Public Consultation On The Award Of Infrastructure Licence
In accordance with our mandate under the Electronic Communications Act, 2008, Act 775, the National Communications Authority (NCA) intends to award Licences for the provision of Infrastructure (Towers) in the country. The Authority intends to follow the under listed timelines for the award of this license:
Timelines for the award of Infrastructure (Tower) License by the National Communications Authority

| 4. | Review of comments and Finalization of Tower License by NCA | January 24, 2011 | February 4, 2011 |
| 5. | Posting of Finalized Licence on the NCA website | February 7, 2011 | |
| 6. | Submission of Application for license | February 9, 2011 | |
| 7. | Consideration and Issuance of Provisional Authorization by the NCA | March 1, 2011 | |
| 8. | Payment of License fees by Applicant | 60 days to pay for Licence, following which, failure to make payment within the stipulated time invalidates the provisional authorization | |
| 9. | Issuance of License to Applicant by the Authority | One (1) week after full payment |

The Authority requests comments and suggestions from the public to enable it finalise the draft license according to the above shown timelines Any comments must be received by January 17, 2011.
The NCA also wishes to inform the general public especially providers of such services that as from April 1st, 2011, it shall be illegal in Ghana to provide such a service without an Infrastructure (Tower) License.
