Request for Applications – Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) Multiplex Operator Authorisation

October 16, 2024… 1. The NATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY (NCA or Authority) invites applications from eligible entities registered under The Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), for the grant of Authorisations to establish, maintain and operate a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+) Multiplex Service in the Republic of Ghana.

2. The Applicant(s) for the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+) Multiplex Service Authorisation should possess a Certificate of Incorporation and Company Regulations from the Office of the Registrar of Companies as well as up-to-date Tax and SSNIT Clearance Certificates (where applicable). Copies of the afore-mentioned Certificates should be submitted with the application.

3. The Selection and Award Procedure Document can be accessed on the Authority’s website: https://nca.org.gh/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Selection-and-Award-Procedure-for-DAB-Multiplex-Authoisation-rev-161024v2.pdf.

4. All applications duly sealed are to be submitted at the Director General’s Secretariat and addressed to:

Accra

on or before 5pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Applications shall not be received after the above stipulated deadline.

5. The Authority intends to issue one (1) Authorisation for Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+) Multiplex Service.

6. All applications shall be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of Thirty-Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHS38,500.00) payable by Bankers Draft to the National Communications Authority.

7. All requests for clarification should be directed in writing to the DIRECTOR GENERAL, NATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY, on or before 5pm on November 5, 2024. An electronic copy should be sent to dabapplications@nca.org.gh.

8. Companies that may have already made applications to the Authority for the above mentioned service are advised to reapply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the selection and award procedure document.
