Mr. George Sarpong

George Sarpong is a globally respected expert in media policy, telecommunications regulation, digital governance, and democratic institution-building, with over 30 years of international policy engagement spanning Africa, Europe, and the United States. He has held high-level global governance roles, serving as 1st Vice Chair of the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund Board in New York, and Representative of UNESCO’s General Conference on the Medical Benefits Fund in Paris. He is a member of DAY ONE Accelerator, a team of global experts that curated trade and technology policy for the US Government. He’s A Reagan-Fascell Fellow in Washington DC.

As Executive Secretary of the National Media Commission, he built internationally recognized systems for media regulation, professional standards, disinformation monitoring, and governance of state-owned media.

With deep experience in international policy, law, technology regulation, media freedom, and institutional reform, George brings global insight and strategic vision critical for steering the NCA in a digitally converged world.
