Director General of NCA Receives Courtesy Call from National Film Authority
May 9, 2025 – The Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, today received a courtesy visit from the National Film Authority (NFA) at the NCA Tower in Accra.

The delegation from the National Film Authority, led by Mad. Jamila Arthur, introduced its new management team and engaged the NCA on critical issues affecting Ghana’s film and television industry. A key concern raised was the unauthorised telecast of content by some television stations, including the downloading and airing of movies from online platforms without permission, posing significant copyright challenges.
The NFA emphasised the need for stronger collaboration with the NCA to streamline regulatory oversight, protect creative works, and create a more structured and synergised media ecosystem. The Authority expressed its commitment to partnering closely with the NCA to address these challenges.
Rev. Ing. Fianko welcomed the proposals and reaffirmed the NCA’s commitment to engaging industry stakeholders to enhance the integrity and sustainability of Ghana’s creative and broadcasting sectors in line with the Authority’s mandate.
