Suleman Salifu Appointed Deputy Director General, Technical Operations for NCA

February 4, 2025 – The National Communications Authority (NCA) announces for the information of the general public the appointment of Mr. Suleman Salifu as the new Deputy Director General for Technical Operations at the Authority.

In this capacity, Mr. Suleman Salifu will support the Acting Director General in providing strategic leadership and guidance, ensuring the efficient regulation of the communications sector in accordance with established corporate governance standards.

Mr. Salifu holds an MSc in Engineering Project Management from Coventry University and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His ongoing professional development includes certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Green & Black Belt), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Business Analysis. He has received specialised training in VSAT installation, cybersecurity, data analysis, and renewable energy systems, further strengthening his technical capabilities.

As a result-oriented telecoms professional, he has served as a project lead for customer support projects and the roll-out of mission critical projects in volatile locations across Africa and the Middle East.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Salifu worked with Networkshop Ltd., Ghana, as a Senior Field Operations Engineer from 2009 to 2015 where he led major VSAT and satellite earth station hub roll-outs.

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Director General, Technical Operations of the NCA, from 2016 to 2024, he served as the Field Operations Services Coordinator at Constro EPC Ltd., Ghana. In this role, he coordinated the strategic business development drive of the Organisation and the roll-out of new customer Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) and satellite earth station projects.

Mr. Suleman Salifu succeeds Prof. Ezer Osei Yeboah-Boateng who served from 2021 until January 2025.

The NCA is confident that his extensive background and knowledge will make a substantial contribution to the Authority’s objective of fostering a robust and dynamin communications industry.
