Public Consultation on Unsolicited Electronic Communications
The number of Unsolicited Electronic Communications (UEC) have risen steadily; the use of texts and calls for telemarketing and commercial services has proliferated; and consumer frustration with UEC continues despite the measures put in place by the Authority.
Following public agitation, the NCA has initiated a revision of the current UEC code to service providers to help address the situation and ensure that consumers are adequately protected by controlling the influx of UECs channelled to consumers.
