NCA Donates PPEs to Korle Bu Child Health Department

The National Communications Authority (NCA) on Wednesday, 1st October, 2020, presented some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth over Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS30,000.00) to the Department of Child Health of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH). This donation  took place at the NCA Tower.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Director General of NCA, Mr. Joe Anokye, Mrs. Gloria Boateng of the Consumer and Corporate Affairs Division said the Authority acknowledges the role Health workers are playing in the fight against COVID-19 and the financial burden the pandemic has imposed on the Government and Health facilities.

She continued to say that as a Government Agency dedicated to its Corporate Social Responsibility, the NCA found it imperative to assist in protecting patients and staff at the Department of Child Health from the highly infectious virus by providing them with some PPEs.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Department of Child Health, Dr. Lily Gloria Tagoe said the Department is grateful for the gesture from the NCA. She recounted some of the challenges that the Department is facing due to limited access to PPEs and the consequences on patients and health workers. She went on to say that they are receiving the items at a very opportune time and further assured the Authority that they will be used for the purpose for which they were donated.

The items presented included masks (KN95, N95, FFP2 and surgical), surgical caps, surgical gloves and gowns, and face shields.
