Notice of Service Disruption in Northern Ghana

September 26, 2026 – The National Communications Authority (NCA) wishes to inform the public of a significant disruption to voice and data services across the five northern regions and parts of the Oti Region.

The disruption follows multiple fibre cuts affecting three separate transmission routes that carry telecommunications capacity to the affected parts of the country. The failures have resulted in service outages and significant degradation across 2G, 3G and 4G networks, affecting a substantial number of network sites.

Technical teams from the affected network operators and the National Information Technology Agency have been deployed to the affected routes, and repair works are ongoing to restore connectivity as quickly as possible.

The NCA is closely monitoring the restoration process and coordinating with the relevant operators and agencies to facilitate the earliest possible restoration of services.

The Authority regrets the inconvenience caused to consumers in the affected areas and will provide further information as restoration progresses.
