Barbara Serwaa Asamoah is an accomplished legal practitioner and enterprise development specialist.
With more than two decades of working in both the public and private sectors, Barbara has demonstrated exceptional skill in policy formulation, legal advocacy, education policy, communication and institutional transformation.
Barbara presently works as a Private Legal Practitioner at Law Trust Company in Ghana. In this capacity, she handles commercial law, alternative dispute resolution, and enterprise development.
From 2013 – 2017, Barbara was Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources. She played a critical role in advancing sustainable land management, mining regulation, and forestry governance.
Barbara has served in senior leadership roles and represented Ghana in various international forums in Europe, Africa, The Americas and Asia on women’s empowerment, leadership development, and political inclusion.
Barbara has participated in several international leadership and policy development programmes, including the Oxford Women’s Leadership Development Programme (UK), the Labour Party Women in Politics Study Programme (UK), the young politician exchange program(U S A),and the Communist Party of China Young Politicians Programme(Beijing).
Barbara holds Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Postgraduate Diploma in the Law of the Sea from Rhodes Academy in Greece, Diplôme d’Université from the Université de Poitiers, France, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English and Law from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Barbara also holds Barrister-at-Law (B.L) professional law qualification from the Ghana School of Law.
