NCA Staff Re-Elected as Vice Chairs of ITU-T Study Groups for 2025-2028 at WTSA-24

November 5, 2024 – The National Communications Authority (NCA) is pleased to announce the re-election of four (4) of its esteemed staff members as Vice Chairs of various ITU-T Study Groups for the 2025-2028 term. This distinguished recognition, awarded at the recently concluded World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly 2024 (WTSA-24) in New Delhi, India, strengthens Ghana’s influence in the global telecommunications standards community.

Mr. Kwadwo Osafo -Maafo has been re-elected as Vice Chair of ITU-T Study Group 17 (Security) whilst Mr. Yaw Boamah Baafi will serve as Vice Chair of ITU-T Study Group 2 (Operational Aspects of Service Provision and Telecommunications Management). Additionally, Mr. Frederick Asumanu and Mr. Kofi Ntim Yeboah-Kordieh have been appointed as Vice Chairs of ITU-T Study Group 11 (Signaling Requirements, Protocols, and Test Specifications) and ITU-T Study Group 3 (Tariff and Accounting Principles) respectively.

These Study Groups play essential roles in advancing global telecommunications standards

encompassing areas such as security frameworks, operational efficiency, signaling protocols, and tariff principles, hereby supporting the security, functionality, and accessibility of telecommunications networks worldwide.

This recognition highlights the NCA’s strategic role in global telecommunications and reaffirms the Authority’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and international collaboration. The continued participation of Messrs. Osafo- Maafo, Baafi, Yeboah-Kordieh, and Asumanu will foster the development of impactful telecommunications standards that serve the needs of the international community.
