NCA Holds Stakeholder Consultative Workshop to Review the Draft Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) User Guidelines

May 23, 2024: The National Communications Authority (NCA) has organised a one-day consultative workshop with key stakeholders to review the draft Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) User Guidelines on 23^rd May, 2024, at the NCA Tower.

These Guidelines are developed under sections 84 and 85 of the Electronic Communications Act to serve as a comprehensive guide for all stakeholders in the electronic communications industry and to provide them with a practical understanding of the operations of the Dispute Resolution Committee (the DRC).

The DRC is set-up with jurisdiction to settle various disputes between entities in the telecommunications industry. The jurisdiction of the DRC applies to disputes between:

• Different network operators or service providers
• Network operators or service providers, and a utility provider
• Network operator or service provider and a consumer

Representatives from Mobile Network Operators, Consumer Advocacy Groups, and the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications actively participated in reviewing the document, providing valuable insights to ensure the finalised document addresses all potential concerns.

In line with the above, the Authority will compile and integrate comments and suggestions from the workshop into the draft guidelines.

This approach underscores the NCA’s commitment to establishing robust and effective DRC User Guidelines to serve the intended purpose.
