NCA Hosts Gambian Delegation on Study Tour at the Broadcasting Monitoring Centre

Accra, 5th May, 2026: The National Communications Authority (NCA) hosted a delegation from the Republic of The Gambia (Department of Information Services), led by the Ghana News Agency(GNA) on a study tour at the Broadcasting Monitoring Centre (BMC) located at the NCA Tower in Accra.

The visit forms part of efforts by the Gambian delegation to understudy the Authority’s regulatory mandate and operational best practices.

Welcoming the delegation, the Deputy Director-General in charge of Technical Operations at the NCA, Mr. Suleman Salifu, assured them of the Authority’s readiness to share knowledge and support peer institutions across the sub-region. He provided an overview of the BMC’s critical role in broadcast compliance enforcement and spectrum surveillance, highlighting the Authority’s advanced capabilities in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Leading the delegation, the Deputy Director, Human Resource and Administration at the Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Barbara Bernice Dodoo, expressed appreciation to the Authority for the warm reception despite the short notice. She noted that the visit would provide valuable insights to inform ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance service delivery within their agency.

The delegation was subsequently taken through a series of technical presentations and guided on a tour of the Broadcasting Monitoring Centre (BMC) to gain a deeper understanding of its operations and its role in supporting the National Media Commission (NMC) and the Authority’s regulatory functions, particularly in monitoring broadcast content and managing spectrum usage.

The visit forms part of efforts by the Gambian delegation to understudy the Authority’s regulatory mandate and operational best practices.
