NCA Shares Regulatory Practices with Electronic Communications Tribunal
September 3, 2025: The National Communications Authority (NCA) has commenced a knowledge-sharing session with the Electronic Communications Tribunal (ECT) from 3rd to 4th September, 2025, at the NCA Tower in Accra, to strengthen collaboration and deepen mutual understanding of regulatory processes within the communications sector.

Speaking at a short opening ceremony, the Deputy Director General in charge of Managerial Operations, Mrs. Etta Mosore, stated that the engagement, which forms part of the NCA’s strategic plan, is necessary to provide members of the Tribunal a deeper understanding of the NCA’s regulatory processes. “We are here to support and ready to provide all the information needed on the issues that you may require,” she said.

Chairman of the ECT, Mr. Victor Anku-Tsede, in his remarks, also underscored the significance of the engagement, stating that while some decisions of the Tribunal may not always be favourable to the Authority, the openness of the engagement reflects positively on the sector. He further added that the Tribunal values the opportunity to understand how the NCA operates, particularly in relation to regulatory penalties, service measurement, and consumer protection, as these perspectives will enrich their deliberations and enhance their work.
The knowledge-sharing session forms part of ongoing efforts by the NCA to foster transparency, strengthen institutional collaboration, and ensure that decisions within the electronic communications sector are grounded in fairness, accountability, and a comprehensive understanding of industry practices.
In attendance were Dr. Tony Bediako, Member of the ECT, and some administrative staff of the Tribunal.
