NCA Grabs Two Awards for Excellence in HR Practice
September 1, 2025 – The National Communications Authority (NCA) has been recognised for its commitment to excellence in leadership and people management, receiving two awards at the 5th National Governance and Business Leadership Awards (NGBLA). The ceremony took place on Friday, 29th August 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
The Authority’s Human Resource (HR) Division received the Excellence in Strategic Human Capital Management – Public Sector Award, while the Director of HR, Dr. Charles Amoah-Wilson, was named the Outstanding HR Leader of the Year in the (Communications and Technology Regulation) under the Future Workplace Awards Africa (FWAA) category.
The NGBLA ceremony featured four signature co-hosted events: the Future Workplace Awards Africa (FWAA) 2025 – 3rd Edition, the General Counsel & Corporate Legal Leadership Awards Africa 2025, the Women Board of Directors Awards 2025, and the Investor Relations Leadership Awards 2025.

The NCA has continued, over the years, to be a trailblazer in excellent HR practice as evinced in yet another set of awards in that regard. Representing the NCA at the august event were Dr. Charles Amoah-Wilson, Director of HR; Mrs. Barbara Osei-Annancy, Deputy Director of HR, together with other staff of the NCA.
Seeking to keep pushing the boundaries of leadership and governance for the present and the future, the prestigious awards ceremony brought together many of Ghana’s most prominent figures in business, health, communications, energy, law, agriculture, banking, technology, education, industry, and many more.

Delivering the keynote address, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, in a brief yet compelling message, spoke about how crucial good governance and leadership were to any country’s development. She also made clear how corruption and its related activities stood in the way of good governance and the sound leadership that Ghana so sorely needed to spur her development. This, according to her, was why the Mahama government was doing its utmost to stem the tide of this illegality. Ending her speech, the Deputy Chief of Staff urged all and sundry: “Together, let’s build the Ghana we want! As we celebrate the winners tonight, let’s
remember it’s not just an honour to win, but also a responsibility. Let tonight be the start that leads us to a greater transformation as one Ghana.”
Some of the notable figures in attendance were the Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration at the presidency, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo; Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, Greater Accra Regional Minister; Mr. Nick Danso Adjei, Group CEO and Chairman, Nick Group of Companies; Mr. Mukesh V. Thakwani, CEO of B5 Plus Limited; Dr. (Mrs.) Adelaide Araba Siaw Agyepong, CEO, African Agribusiness Consortium, among many other bigwigs.
The NCA remains committed to raising the bar in HR practice in Ghana.
