NCA Hosts University of Education – Winneba Students on Educational Visit
August 29, 2025: The National Communications Authority (NCA) has hosted students from the Department of Information and Communication Technology of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at the NCA Tower as part of an educational visit.
The visit offered the students a valuable opportunity to gain practical insight into the regulatory framework and policy implementation processes within Ghana’s telecommunications sector.

During the session, there were detailed presentations from various Divisions of the Authority, highlighting key areas of the NCA’s mandate. These included how spectrum is efficiently managed and monitored, the measures put in place to protect the rights and interests of consumers, and the processes that ensure fair competition and structured growth within the communications industry.
The students also engaged in interactive discussions, broadening their understanding of how regulatory principles are applied in practice to ensure a robust and secure communications ecosystem in Ghana.
As part of the engagement, the students toured several of the Authority’s key regulatory facilities. At the Network Monitoring Centre, they observed how the NCA tracks telecom network performance in real time. They also visited the Computer Emergency Response Team (NCA-CERT), where cybersecurity threats are managed, and digital forensics conducted, as well as the Broadcast Monitoring Centre, which oversees compliance with technical requirements for radio and television broadcasting.
The Authority continues to open its doors to academic institutions across the country as part of its commitment to knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and fostering stronger links between industry and academia.
