UCC Students Visit NCA for Industry Insights
July 18, 2025 – The National Communications Authority (NCA) hosted students from the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) for an educational tour of the Authority’s facilities at the NCA Tower in Accra.
The visit formed part of the students’ academic and professional development initiative aimed at bridging classroom learning with practical industry experience.
During the visit, the students participated in a series of interactive presentations highlighting the NCA’s mandate, core functions, and key regulatory initiatives. Resource persons from across the Authority provided insights into critical areas such as spectrum management, quality of service monitoring, and cybersecurity governance.

As part of the engagement, the students toured several of the Authority’s regulatory facilities including the Network Monitoring Centre, where they observed how the NCA monitors telecom network performance in real time; the Computer Emergency Response Team (NCA-CERT), which manages cybersecurity threats and conducts digital forensics; and the Broadcast Monitoring Centre, which ensures compliance with technical requirements for radio and television broadcasting.
