Telecel Group Engages NCA on Investment Plans and Growth Strategy in Ghana
May 16, 2025. The Acting Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, welcomed a high-powered delegation from the Telecel Group, led by its Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Mr. Moh Damush, to the NCA Tower in Accra. The visit marks a renewed commitment to deepening collaboration and driving sustainable growth in Ghana’s telecommunications sector.

The Authority’s dedication to ongoing dialogue and regulatory support was reaffirmed by Rev. Ing. Edmund Y. Fianko during the meeting. He underscored the importance of strategic resources and capital injections from the Telecel Group in the delivery of high-quality telecommunications services across the country.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Moh Damush expressed optimism about Telecel’s future in Ghana, stating that, “We are committed to creating a remarkable success story in Ghana. Our 21% growth reflects the significant progress we’ve made, and with continued macroeconomic stability, we expect even greater impact in the telecom industry. The Group is focused on financial restructuring that will see further capital injections into the country”.
He further expressed that the Telecel Group looks forward to an increase in spectrum allocation to enhance the delivery of quality services to consumers.

Rev. Ing. Fianko reassured the delegation that the NCA is actively working on arrangements to ensure equitable spectrum management. “Our goal is not to frustrate non-significant market power (non-SMP) operators but to create a competitive market space for all the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in the country” he noted. “We’ve seen progress in your numbers as the decline has been stayed and we are hopeful that market share will continue to grow.”
Ending his remarks, Mr. Damush praised Ghana’s local talent pool, noting, “Ghanaians are full of talent. We are proud to work with highly qualified individuals who can serve not only in Ghana but across our global operations.”
The delegation included Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO of Telecel Ghana; Victor Badin, Chief Financial Officer of Telecel Group; Samuel Owusu-Mensah, Director of Finance; Mohamad Ghaddar, Chief Operating Officer; Augusta Andrews, Director of Legal and External Affairs; and Hussein Rifai.
