Update on NCA’s Enforcement Action on FM Radio Stations Operating with Expired Authorisations

The National Communications Authority (NCA) will complete the shutdown of FM radio stations operating with expired frequency authorisations within four (4) weeks.

The Authority, announced and begun the current enforcement exercise last week and is proceeding with the action following the judgement of the Electronic Communications tribunal against offending stations.

As at the end of 10th May, 2019, 41 FM Radio Stations operating with expired authorisations as determined by the spectrum Audit have been closed down; this includes nine (9) that were closed down last week. More stations are to be closed down before the exercise is completed at the end of the four-week period.

The NCA will share the next steps at the end of the process.
