NCA Welcomes New AG. Director, Legal.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has welcomed a new Acting Director for Legal Division, Dr. Poku Adusei, who takes over from Mrs. Abena Asafu-Adjei effective 1st April, 2019.
Prior to his appointment at the NCA, Dr. Poku Adusei was the Deputy Director General of the Ghana Standards Authority. He also worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, School of Law, where he taught Intellectual Property Law, Private International Law, Company Law and Land Law. Added to these, he was the Managing Partner of Poku Adusei & Associates.
Called to the Ghana Bar in 2003, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in patent law, innovation and development from the McGill University, a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Alberta and a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, Accra, as well as a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Dr. Adusei has received numerous honorary awards such as the H.N. McDermid Scholarship for proven ability in the area of specialization by the University of Alberta, Canada, University of Ghana Provosts’ Mid-Career Award and McGill University’s Provost Award for Doctoral Research amongst others.
He has consulted for many governmental agencies and international organizations, including, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Ghana-Swiss Intellectual Property Project under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Judicial Training Institute, Ghana Lands Commission, Ghana Integrity Initiative, a local chapter of Transparency International and West Africa Civil Society Institute.
With over fifteen (15) years of corporate legal practice, he has successfully represented many corporate clients in intellectual property law and practice, land litigation, technology and innovation law consultancies, and the pursuit of alternative dispute resolution procedures.
He brings to the NCA his remarkable excellence in corporate law practice and commercial litigation in the Superior Court of Judicature in Ghana.
