NCA Supports Kayaye Initiative Under The Pamela Brigdewater Project

The National Communications Authority (NCA), as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has donated five desktop computers to the Kunata Voluntary Organisation (Pamela Bridgewater Project).

The Kunata Voluntary Organisation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) advocates a campaign to provide a better future, welfare and social security to disadvantaged girls and head potters popularly known as “kayayei” through formal and informal education, protection and research.

The donation by the NCA is geared towards helping with data collection and compilation at their yet to be commissioned centre in Kejetia, Kumasi.

Making the presentation, Dr. Isaac Yaw Ani, Deputy Director-General for Managerial Operations at the Authority stated that, ICT is one of the major concerns of the NCA and the donation of the computers forms part of the Authority’s obligation to support the growth and development of technology in Ghana.

Founder and Director of Kunata Voluntary Organisation, Yahaya Alhassan, receiving the computers expressed his gratitude to the NCA and commended management for the gesture. He said the computers will go a long way to help the girls targeted by the project to learn and develop skills in ICT and also to aid in data collection and compilation at their yet to be commissioned centre in Kejetia – Kumasi.
