NCA’S CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON ECONOMIC REGULATIONS
The National Communications Authority (NCA) in collaboration with the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) has today, 27th June, 2017, launched a 3-day training workshop on the theme ‘Economic Regulations’ at the NCA Tower in Accra. The programme, which is the second in the series of a four (4) week capacity building workshop to upgrade its staff and industry stakeholders in new and emerging trends in the communications industry.

The participants were drawn from the NCA and the Ministry of Communications with its Agencies including the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), as well as the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). The programme seeks to provide them with in-depth knowledge of the principles of regulation and current regulatory models in the Telecommunications industry.
In her welcome address, Mrs Abena Asafu-Adjei, Director of the Legal Division of the NCA, urged participants to espouse the programme in order to acquire essential knowledge to enhance their duties as Staff so as to achieve the set objectives of their various Organisations.

Adding on, the Deputy Director for Managerial Operations of the NCA, Dr Yaw Ani, encouraged the participants to take the programme serious and pledged his support for the on-going and subsequent workshops to come.

The facilitator for the training program, Ing. Dr. John Andrew Mpapalika, an academician and a telecommunications engineer in Tanzania, in his remarks, expressed his pleasure to share his knowledge and experience with the delegates and encouraged participants to make good use of the period.
