Participants of Girls-In-ICT 2019 Visit NCA

Sixty (60) selected participants of the 2019 National Girls-In-ICT Initiative on Thursday, 22nd August, 2019, paid a working visit to the National Communications Authority (NCA) in Accra. This was part of an Open Day activity organised by the Ministry of Communications (MoC) to give an opportunity for the selected girls to gain knowledge, understand and appreciate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Hosting the girls on behalf of the Director General of the NCA, Mr. Joe Anokye, the Deputy Director General for Managerial Operations, Ms. Olivia Okailey Quartey said the Authority deemed the visit as very important. In her remarks, she was elated to see such young girls show interest in ICT. She said ICT has become viable in the job market today, therefore, there is the need for it to be taken seriously.
