Mobile Data Figures For The Month Of July 2015

At the end of July 2015 there was a 0.24% increase in the total number of Mobile data subscribers. Total subscribers increased from 16, 816,134 as at the end of June 2015 to 16,855,666 as at the end of July 2015. The total penetration rate for the month under review was 62.07%. Incidentally, the penetration rate has increased by 3.17% since January 2015.

MTN’s data subscribers for July 2015 was 8,140,214, indicating an increase in subscribers from June’s figure of 8,128,130. Market trends indicate an increase of 0.15% from the previous month and MTN’s market share for July was 48.29%.

Vodafone’s data subscribers increased from June’s figure of 2,995,917 to end July 2015 with 3,010,818 subscribers. This indicates an increase in Vodafone’s subscribers by 0.5% from the previous month. Their market share for the month under review was 17.86%.

Tigo’s data subscribers increased by 0.01% from the previous month. This is reflected in their total subscriber figure of 2,573,236 at the end of July 2015. Tigo’s market share for the month was 15.27%.

Airtel’s data subscriber trend increased from 2,486,877 at the end of June to 2,537,488 as at the end of July 2015. This represents an increase of 2.04%. Their total market share for the month under review was 15.05%.

Glo’s data subscribers decreased from June’s figure of 586,819 to end July 2015 with a subscriber figure of 548,587, reflecting in a percentage decrease of 6.52% for the month under review. Their market share for July was 3.25%.

Expresso’s data subscriber figures also decreased from 45,514 at the end of June to end July 2015 with 45,323 subscribers. This indicates a decrease in their percentage caption by 0.42%. Their total market share for the month under review was 0.27%.
